A typical back street corner local. The original Victorian pub was destroyed by bomb damage in WW2. The present one storey building was built in the 1950s. The interior layout has two rooms, a bar and a lounge. The lounge has mock Tudor beams in the ceiling and an interesting collection of brass plates adorn the walls. Since the opening of Winter's brewery in 2001, this pub has effectively become the Winter's 'tap' selling most of their range of beers.
