Norwich's first self-designated micropub, seating up to 25 people in a single room, and a few more outside weather permitting, serving three ales and four keykeg beers, the Malt & Mardle was converted in 2021 from a shop premises that had held a variety of business over the preceding years.

The ales are served on handpump inside the cooler on the purpose-built 'cellar' on the right side of the room, and there's a small bar at the front.

Note that the pub is closed Monday and Tuesday, and operates on restricted hours when open. 'Mardle' is a Norfolk word for a relaxed conversation!
